Personally I thought that the show made it clear that there was a big miscarriage of justice going on in their second trial, it’s clear that the judge was biased and not willing to give them a fair defence because everyone was so fixated on getting results after the OJ verdict.

It definitely did make the older brother look like a bit of a jerk granted, which I understand is what caused a lot of the upset as it's apparently a very inaccurate portrayal of how he is in reality, but I don’t think that aspect took away from how clearly they hadn’t been treated fairly by the justice system, that they had been horribly abused, and the show does lay all that out there.

And honestly I think that all of the incest talk is a bit overhyped, there were a couple of slightly inappropriately close moments in the show sure, but it seemed to me that that was more about how their upbringing and the crime had created more of an intense bond that would have otherwise existed between normal brothers. I think a lot of the backlash tbh came from people watching certain out of context clips on twitter and Tik Tok, but within the show itself there’s never incest between the brothers (obviously outside of the abuse that went on when they were younger)

I mean, the shower scene is shown to be from Dominick Dunne's perspective, but even if you just look at him as an unreliable narrator, they still didn't have to show it...they could've just mentioned it, they didn't need to show it...And what about the scenes of them kissing or dancing suggestively? Or Erik in the shower with the other inmate? None of these are things that were ever proven in court, these were just rumors fueled by Dunne and the prosecution team, there was no evidence of it. And what about Lyle doing drugs and bullying kids? Where did that come from? The show shows things that didn't happen and were never proven in court. Meanwhile completely ignoring and disregarding the brothers' story as "they're just liars/actors and sociopaths".
