You are hangry and correct (even though I also hate Ariana).

Her most pop culture defining moment was when Kayne interrupted her. She has very little impact.

Courtney Love said a similar thing recently and the internet tried to drag her for being unsupportive of women but ultimately they all know she was right. Taylor is not culturally important. The more records she brakes, the more obvious it is.

Idk how y’all don’t feel delusional saying stuff like this. You don’t have to like her or her music but her legacy is pretty set in stone at this point. The eras tour alone proves her impact and iconography.

Taylor is relevant to her fans. To everyone else she's a nothing.

That’s true of every pop star.

I dunno, Madonna has had a huge cultural impact, whether people stan her or not. And I know a lot of people who didn't care for Gaga's music but remember things like her meat dress, her bloody VMAs performance, or know her for her LGBT advocacy.

and people know taylor for the VMA kanye incident, her awards show persona, her notable romantic relationships in the public, and and being a staple of suburban white american women. it might not be the culture you want, but she has had an insane cultural impact.

My point was not: Taylor Swift has no cultural impact. My point was: "pop stars' cultural impact in general extends beyond their fans."

I know what your point was. I'm disagreeing and telling you her cultural reach extends beyond her fans in the same way of the two examples you listed.

You know what? You're right. "Doing just alright" and "being insufferable and argumentative completely unprovoked" are probably mutually exclusive. Congrats on that 👏

Hey I'm not the one trying to incite a reaction by throwing insults around, you're lucky I'm procrastinating work rn because I'm curious how long you'll keep this thread going.
