This list is a joke. Katy maybe a flop now but she ruled the 2010s. How are Lil Wayne, BTS, Miley and Nicki above her???

It's the whole 21st Century, not just the 2010's. You have to take her floppage into account.

It took Miley a decade to get her net big hit after Wrecking Ball
BTS only became a thing like 5 years ago.

Looks like there is a some recency bias with this list.

Also Usher hasn't has a hit in over a decade, longer than Katy. Why is he up so high?

I mean Lil Wayne, Miley, Justin Timberlake, and 1D (which literally only existed for half of the 2010s) are on this list. And I hate to say it but Ed Sheeran is very obviously way too low too. Also what even has Jay-Z done in the 21st century besides Empire State of Mind?

yeah my mom moved back to puerto rico & then spent a couple years in mexico and he’s probably the only person on this list she can name lmao. certainly the only one i’ve ever heard her bring up unprompted! (to complain. she thinks his songs are “not music” and wishes he would “stick to fashion.”)

Ed Sheeran below Nicki Minaj is wild and I don't even like him THAT much. Guy is up there with Bruno and and John Legend for most used wedding song

Maybe my grasp of the recent pop culture landscape is weak but I think Ariana is way too high. She's had big hits for sure but I don't think she ever dominated like some others on the list below her, like Katy who I don't even like but I can't deny how she was everywhere in the late 00s and the early-to-mid 10s.

Plus I feel like Adele has had a bigger impact than Ariana, too.

Adele should be higher than Ari, I agree. But I think in terms of style Ariana is more of a "pop star" where Adele is just like a popular musician, if that makes sense lol. Like I wouldn't really call Jay-Z a pop star. Not that he isn't popular.

i know that chart wise it’s no contest but man i wish they’d bumped katy perry for kesha… i did tik tok at post wedding karaoke last month and it still gets the room moving like nothing else, plus unlike katy, an idiot who was in the right place at the right time, kesha is an actual artist who has continued to evolve and grow while retaining the hallmarks of her signature style… anyway stream gag order!
