Also like

SM kept this guy on ice for a YEAR. For the unforgiveable crime of having a girlfriend pre-debut????

Then they finally brought him back.

Only to then cave to the pressure of unhinged fans after like 2 days and kicking him out again.

SM completely fucked this guy over. I feel awful for him. Is he still under contract with SM even after being kicked out of Riize? Probably, I'd guess.

ALSO ALSO

Like SM is still trying to convince us that they knew nothing about Taeil being under investigation until it went public and then they kicked him out of NCT. But I don't belieeeeeeve them. I think they knew in June and still let Taeil, the gang rapist, participate in fan meets in July.

But that was ok. Being under investigation for gang rape = ok.

Having a girlfriend pre-debut = unforgivable sin, I guess.

I'm curious if he remains with SM as his agency after all of this, too!

I think SM would have to let him go or maybe he'd have to file for contract termination and could use this shitstorm as evidence of mistreatment?

I hope SM does let him go and he's able to sign with someone else and have a successful career elsewhere. Because SM treated him like shit for no reason.

Considering how shitty this management company is they probably have him locked in a contract. They don't want to use him, but they don't want anyone else using him either, and it's a terrible position for a creative to be in.

sm historically has kept idols in a contract and just didn't do anyhing with them until they left the company quietly years later, so i would not be shocked if that were the case.

not that i disagree that a company would do that, but i think when there's already been explanations both ways that match up with timing (at the beginning-ish of august, taeil started being excluded and unfollowed on ig) of things then i think it's best to just not speculate. the police also stated for the sake of protection of the victim's identity they're being tight-lipped on details.

there's this article (ymmv on credibility) that states without a source that taeil was contacted by police in august, and taeil told SM then too: https://m.joynews24.com/v/1757793

I'm all for dragging SM for the list of shit they pulled over the years but re; the taeil case, I do believe they didn't know about it until at least August purely for the protection of the victim and building a case against him.
God knows what would have happened if they got wind he was under investigation, they could have tried and pay the victim off or put pressure on them to withdraw the complaint.

It’s that reason why I genuinely think they didn’t know. Seems counterproductive to warn a suspect’s job, who just happen to be a big 3 Kpop company with money and lawyers.
