I loved that whenever Angel and Spike were together (even on BtVS), there was a very obvious annoyed sibling vibe. The actors and the writers were able to capture that feeling of two people who have known each other a really long time and know how to push each other's buttons. In S1-S4, Angel was the leader of the group and although there were sometimes heated discussions or arguments with the rest of the team, he clearly felt that he was in charge and made the important decisions. I loved that when Spike popped up in S5, Angel could no longer maintain the image of the serious brooding boss all the time because he was getting into petty bickering arguments with Spike in front of everyone.

OMG imagine Cordelia and Spike gossiping in the break room together about everyone at Wolfram Hart!

Season 4 had issues with all the Connor/Holtz/Jasmine stuff going on. Season 5 almost felt like a reset & I think Spike brought some much needed fresh energy to the show. He & Angel also had history but not since they both had souls so it also brought some perspective to the show that Angel wasn't the only vampire with a soul and Angel was cursed vs Spike fighting to get his back of his own free will. Their dynamic is great. I wish the show had gotten a Season 6 to properly kind of wrap up rather than being told they were being canceled & trying to rush to make Season 5 a series finale.

Season 6 I remember reading the ideas for and Willow was going to appear as well as Oz to teach Nina about being a werewolf, so they were thinking about bringing back some of the Buffy characters.
