They have a majority women audience - but from what I understand this wasn't like... a group of men together. It was individual men who were seemingly attending the gig solo (there is even a known stereotype in the UK of the '6 Music Dad' who is generally a fatherly type who likes to keep up with new music, buy merch, who tend to attend gigs by themselves). That's my issue here; This probably wouldn't have prevented anything, some men just want to listen to music they enjoy, and it was an easy excuse to target demographics.
Men have been socialized in ways that harm in a variety of ways for a majority of history, but doing this to them isn't encouraging them to do better
