I am not familiar with this group, does their main audience skew toward teens/young adults or women? If that was the case I could understand people feeling hesitation when a bunch of old dudes show up.

They have a majority women audience - but from what I understand this wasn't like... a group of men together. It was individual men who were seemingly attending the gig solo (there is even a known stereotype in the UK of the '6 Music Dad' who is generally a fatherly type who likes to keep up with new music, buy merch, who tend to attend gigs by themselves). this is not a kids show. idc how old they are, there's absolutely zero reason to pull these grown ass man aside and search them like they're some terrorists. and what were they hoping to find on them? a child molestation kit? the fuck.

That's my issue here; This probably wouldn't have prevented anything, some men just want to listen to music they enjoy, and it was an easy excuse to target demographics.
