Katie Holmes:

"I'm really excited to be doing this play. I have been wanting to work with Kenny Leon. And this play is a play that I actually didn't read in high school. I ran into Kenny and he was telling me he was going to do this, and I was like, 'Our Town', oh my god, that sounds so exciting. I happened to be reading the Ann Patchett book at ( Read more... )

This fucking play. I get why it’s a classic but my first director credit was directing my 6th grade class who performed this and it was a STRUGGLE. I even had to take on the role of intimacy coordinator when two characters had to hug (I think they actually kiss in the play, but I could be wrong).

This play is why I retired.

Our Town feels so nostalgic to me, but not because I've seen it, because it was in episodes of The Wonder Years and My So Called Life.

i hated when we had to read this play in middle school english

and that was probably the biggest problem, it was assigned to us like a book, we should have at least read it aloud in class, like you know, a play

Ann Patchett's book was amazing and made me want to see the play, I feel like this is one of the American classics that somehow missed me

I know this isn't the place but i just wanted to let everyone know i survived Helene even if damage here in WNC is catastrophic. My town has no cell service and i am on the library's wifi (i also have no internet - our hub for my area is under water) but we were very lucky compared to even one or two towns over. Just wanted everyone to know i am ok!

Every single road in WNC is out, it’s terrifying, I’m so glad you’re OK!

I am at the library along with everyone else in town and we're fine here (other than internet, cell service, and water being contaminated but still on). Just up the road there is pure devastation it's terrible but even i don't know whats going on because there is such limited communication. It took me over 24 hours to tell my family i was ok. My biggest issue was i ran out of movies to watch hence why i came to the library.
