After taking my mom to see Paddington a couple weeks ago at a $3 showing(!) I had to make sure we saw the sequel as well, which thankfully was at that same theatre the very next week. She liked both but preferred the first one. She's a crier so she was teary at the end of it and was like "geez I really cry over everything" and I was like "no one can blame you here, this damn bear has no right making all of us this emotional" lol. Even as we were leaving I could hear someone say "I'm 19 and crying over a fictional bear right at the movies" lol so he really gets to us all.

Also took her to see Whiplash on Friday, which she had also never seen. I hadn't watched it in I guess ten years, and holy, I really forgot how stressful that movie is. Still great, but whew it's just a lot.

On Monday we saw Parenthood which is one she had seen, but Cineplex does VIP one nighters, so we went. Also, I had somehow never watched it in its entirety before, so it's always nice to see something new, even if it's old, and I liked it. I completely forgot that Joaquin Phoenix called himself Leaf for a time, so when that was the name in the opening credits I was like "but he looks identical to his brother?!"

Then we saw Speak No Evil yesterday and enjoyed it well enough. I just love James McAvoy. I'll have to watch the original now, though I do already know how it differs from this one.

Tonight we're seeing Goodfellas which I'm very excited about, because not only do I love this movie, but it's yet another one that my mom hasn't seen before, and I know she'll like it. Though will also probably be horrified by some of the violence lol

And then we have tickets for another of those VIP one nighters to see Something's Gotta Give on Monday night.
