The path to bringing Beetlejuice 2 to life revealed

Sep 16, 2024 16:05

Warner Bros once pushed to make ‘BEETLEJUICE 2’ for Max but that idea frustrated Tim Burton.

WB said the film was too risky to make for $147M with a theatrical release, so they had to lower the budget to under $100M

The film has already made $250M worldwide.

All the reviews I've read/seen about this film scream underwhelming cash grab-and that's including the positive ones. I'm glad the team that made it work is getting a payday, and I love to see Zaslav with egg on his face, but this sequel was so unnecessary.

Anyway, see y'all in late 2025/early 2026 in the Beetlejuice™️: The CGI Animated Series©️ presented by MAX®️ posts

imo: anything that successfully builds upon or exceeds the quality of the source material. for every Aliens, there's an Alien 3

Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (and Mark Patton in general) is also gay culture and gets a pass

It didn’t strike me as a cash grab at all. Felt like a labor of love from Burton and co., hardly anything cynical or cheap.

Also most of the reviews were generally positive.
