Warner Bros once pushed to make ‘BEETLEJUICE 2’ for Max but that idea frustrated Tim Burton.
WB said the film was too risky to make for $147M with a theatrical release, so they had to lower the budget to under $100M
The film has already made $250M worldwide.

September 16, 2024 -Interest in a Beetlejuice sequel has been floating around for awhile
-Heads of WB originally wanted the sequel to be a MAX exclusive which all the OGs were against
-Wanting to rebuild their relationship with Burton they informed him that if Burton could slash the budget from $145mill to $100mill they would greenlight the film and release it in theaters.
-Everyone agreed to take salary cuts and agreed to backend profits of the film.
-For once WB salary/budget savings has worked as the sequel has grossed over $260mill at the box office within 2 weeks of release.
