I don’t know what I was expecting but I was underwhelmed by Chappell and Sabrina.

I feel like Sabrina didn't give as much energy as she usually does. She just felt off.

Wouldnt be surprised if she’s a bit burnt out, doing taylor’s tour for over a year , then the new album and now her own tour

Yeah, I said it in the live viewing post but last year's pre-show VMA performance was better.

Nothing groundbreaking, but still better than what she gave us this year.

This performance is what finally made me check out her music

it only looks better because the stage is smaller and more intimate (hell, you can even see the ceiling in the camera shot) so she and her dancers can fill it much easier

her performances lack the theatricality that's a bit more suited for the big awards stage
