I saw that fans were calling her a diva so she turned off comments on that video. such entitled fans to be angry cause she doesn't wanna be harassed. how dare she ask not to be stalked too. congrats you made someone who just got famous regret it instead of finding joy in blowing up
i would bet the fans who are mad about her wanting to be treated like a person are the same people who "protect their peace" by being a bad friend/coworker. it's all about what makes them and only them comfortable
at this point, i would not be surprised if chappell roan went full kate bush and moved to a remote location, built herself a studio and released music on her own time with zero promo and zero touring.
I cannot remember where it was said (maybe it was ONTD or Twitter?) but I remember someone saying when we were kids yeah our generation was also too intense about pop stars but we actually liked them. The media pushed whatever narrative but for the most part fans were fans. There's definitely fans now who defend their fave through the absolute dumbest bullshit and shouldn't and they don't need to be "loyal" to a stranger but a lot fans can't wait to tear down artists if it means they get plenty of likes for being ~funny.
yes exactly!! and i've noticed a lot of weird passive-aggression, like you always see comments to the ilk of ''you look like shit, queen!!!'' idk, it's SO weird and almost like it's less about the artist and more about feeding the social media echo chamber?
I hope when she finishes her tour she can pull a CRJ and take a long break to write as she pleases - until all the straights and crazies move on and find a new fave. And then when she comes back she can play normal sized shows for her remaining queer fans :D
