I'm sure these ultrarich Arab rulers have even religious laws shaped to suit them best and maybe also different local rules, but in general, a man is allowed to have 4 wives, the 'main wife' needs to agree to the following marriages, and having sex out of wedlock is a sin for everyone!
It is difficult for a woman to get divorced... a male family member from her side (usually father or older brother) has to support her demand, and they need to convince her Imam that the husband is misbehaving in regard to the Islamic concept of a marriage. Now in this case, she says he is "occupied with other companions" which hints at a legitimate ground for divorce, as even with multiple wives, a man is required to treat each wife equally and also split his time & resources between them equally (yeah, how would the average sis prove that... but a woman from a background with power sure can).
For example, I have a distant relative who is well-educated and earns well in a government-related position. When she was pregnant with their second child, her husband kept pestering her about marrying a second wife. She didn't want that, but gave in to pressure and agreed. The house wasn't big enough to accommodate another adult, so he bought another, much more fancy & expensive place for the second wife - and ended up moving in full-time with her, ditching my relative with the newborn. My extended family was furious, including even the conservatively religious, and it was easy to prove that he was not treating both women equally. With so much support, and her income allowing her to live independently as a single mom, her divorce was easy-peasy. Society shunned her for that move, ngl, and she could never marry again, but she focused on her career instead and became a rich bitch with power :3
Idk these UAE royals well enough, but even if her own father is a cheater, he might feel that Mahra's husband is also disrespecting him with his actions and support his daughter's divorce? Either way, best of luck to her!
