Princess of Dubai Announces Divorce from Cheating Husband on Instagram

Her Highness Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 30, has announced her divorce on Instagram. Her father, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is the prime minister of the UAE and is also the ruler of Dubai. In May of last year, she married fellow royal Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, 30, in a lavish ceremony. She gave birth to their daughter just two months ago.
Here's the thing: Her Instagram post is also apparently how she announced the divorce to her husband. The post proclaims:
"Dear Husband,
As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You.
Take care,
Your ex-wife."
Ice cold! The post uses a practice called triple repudiation, in which a traditionalist Muslim man can divorce his wife by declaring it out loud three times. Some in the UAE were so shocked that they believed that Mahra's account was hacked, while others praised her for standing up for herself.
