2x4: The Red Dragon and the Gold In Rhaenyra and Daemon's absence, Rhaenys tries to steady the Black Council as Cole mounts a campaign into the Crownlands.
Aegon is definitely only a chess piece to the greens. Aemond seems to be running the show right now along with Criston to some extent and Larys, though Larys is just thriving on all the chaos. Alicent has SOME pull but she's in perpetual self-doubt.
I can understand why people are team green and tbh I found myself actually liking aemond this episode and well sweet haelena can be excluded from this but what I find funny is seeing people upset that team green are being shown as antagonists. Its obvious to me they were set up like that from the beginning. They literally stole the throne from the person who was named heir and from what I understand they are actually given far more humanity in the show compared to the books.
I'm team Green in the book because I love their scheming and how spiteful they, are but in the show yeah it's not happening, the characters are an absolute mess.
you didn't hear this from me, but I found that most of it is motivated by love for the actors
which, don't get me wrong, I completely understand. Tom, Ewan and Phia are all fantastic and I love them and on top of that they're doing an incredible job but like... Aegon's an actual rapist ykwim...
Aemond is a more valid persuasion because while he is a POS, his crimes are pretty much the same as every other character on this show except Helaena, and he's also a very well-written character/villain (they all are, but Aemond is very compelling to watch)
Like I get it... I've felt the weakness and the pull... but Rhaenyra has the rightful claim lmao like that's just a fact.
Can we move along from the "Aegon is a rapist" narrative? It's reductive and redundant, not to mention there's more to the character than just that. I didn't see people whining like this over stanning worse villains in GoT such as Joffrey Baratheon or Ramsay Bolton.
although i had to leave hotdblacks because they started getting kind of deranged too. like, i'm way more team blacks but even in the books i liked helaena's character and not to get into spoilers if you haven't read the books but i remember posting there about something that happens with her character, and with her daughter's character later in the story, and got downvoted to hell over it. both those subs are kinda crazy if you say anything positive about a character on the other "team" lmao i'm certain the hotdgreens were in the live post downvoting anyone excited to see milly show up, and the hotdblacks were downvoting a recent post of people praising phia's acting.
omg yes they're both absolutely deranged! i've not read fire and blood but i know all the spoilers lol. i saw on hotdgreens that they're talking about missing D&D and actually how brilliant D&D were. some of the decisions these showrunners are making are definitely questionable but let's not rewrite history and act like D&D were actually competent!
As a viewer I enjoy the Greens because they're interesting characters to watch. The Blacks - aside from Daemon had Rhaenys - are boring to me. Exception: when Rhaenerya is roasting Daemon (as is always deserved). But I don't care about any of her kids or Daemon's kids or Corlys because the show has neglected to make me care.
