Graceland Con Artist Appears to be Missouri Grandma, Not Nigerian Scammers

Jun 14, 2024 19:49

Remember when “Nigerian scammers” tried to steal Graceland?

Well we’ve got a story for you. It led us to a scammer grandma with a decades-long rap sheet and me to the door of a trailer in Branson for answers. https://t.co/KUIX49ifbo

I can't remember what the story was but I've been following that journalist (Brandy Zadrozny) for a while and she is really incredible. I feel like we're all more or less despondent at the media at large, but when you find great reporters and follow them you can get great news!!
Sorry for the endorsement under your comment

Somewhere on Reddit, be it JustNoFamily or RaisedByNarcissists, there is someone posting about this woman. While people go "Fake! You took it too far to be believable."

my brother got called by a scammer and my bro is a troll so he kept him on the line being a dick, and apparently made the scammer mad enough that he was like i know youre related to ladychips and you and ladychips' parents and grandmother and im going to call ALL of them and take ALL THEIR MONEY. my bro laughed and mocked him until he hung up, and then my bro called us and since then ive been perched and waiting because i want to do the taken monologue if i get called

I had a similar experience with 'Amazon'. I knew immediately that it was a scammer and kept him on the line, asked for phone numbers and name of supervisors and random Amazon questions. I could hear how frustrated and angry he was. He even snapped at me twice. It was hilarious to hear.

My dad does this, too. He just tries to waste their time.
My BIL, on the other hand, almost fell for one. Thankfully, they asked for his drivers license number and he thought that they should know that if they were the police.

Oooh a police scam. Were they asking him to a buy a gift card? That seems to be how those usually shake out.
