Ghost Ship is one of my favorite movies idc lol it's so early 2000s I can't help but love it.

Saw the Poseidon remake in theaters and it's dumb but I was scarred. Never going on a ship. Thanks.

i'm only going on a boat if it's not a huge lake

very little chance of drowning there

LOL I didn't include Poseidon/The Poseidon Adventure because I was sure everyone had at least heard of at least one or the other.

eta and obviously by that same logic, Titanic.

Nautical disasters are one of my special interests! The ocean terrifies me. The vast depths are scary as hell!

That being said Ghost Ship is fantastic and I can watch it over and over. It’s terrible but god it’s a perfect storm (lmao) of ghosts, ships, and Karl Urban.

Also this song that had no right to be in this movie because it was too good for it (also this scene + the ball at the beginning >>>> everything else).

The opening scene is fucking iconic. I wish there was a book adaption of the movie. I’d read the hell out of that shit.

SAME. I'm not even sure if there are books similar to it but Ghost Ship is one of my favorite horror movies.

I was literally browsing cruises for myself earlier today lmao. Doesn't matter how many horror stories I hear, I still must take to the sea!! I must!! 🚢

I have a CruiseCheap price alert set for several right now LMAO. We just got our travel insurance reimbursement for my medical center visit last cruise, so it must be a sign! But after I get a new job haha. Also prices really have gone up :( We're looking at cruises out of San Juan for our next one, since they're cheaper and you can go to lesser-visited islands that way.

I get some discounts through work, and I'm also gonna be reimbursed for my grad classes early next year, so 🤑🤑🤑🚢! But yes, turns out leaving from NY/NJ means limited destination options. Perhaps I should look at a map someday. But I'm still excited!!!

Yeah, your options are pretty much New England/Canada, Bermuda, or the Bahamas. I THINK Carnival does some longer cruises from NYC to the eastern Caribbean. Oh, yeah, here's one - https://www.cruiseplum.com/cruise/US/2-people/Carnival-Venezia/2024-10-14/11-days from $94 per person per day including tips and taxes.
