I was literally browsing cruises for myself earlier today lmao. Doesn't matter how many horror stories I hear, I still must take to the sea!! I must!! 🚢

I have a CruiseCheap price alert set for several right now LMAO. We just got our travel insurance reimbursement for my medical center visit last cruise, so it must be a sign! But after I get a new job haha. Also prices really have gone up :( We're looking at cruises out of San Juan for our next one, since they're cheaper and you can go to lesser-visited islands that way.

I get some discounts through work, and I'm also gonna be reimbursed for my grad classes early next year, so 🤑🤑🤑🚢! But yes, turns out leaving from NY/NJ means limited destination options. Perhaps I should look at a map someday. But I'm still excited!!!

Yeah, your options are pretty much New England/Canada, Bermuda, or the Bahamas. I THINK Carnival does some longer cruises from NYC to the eastern Caribbean. Oh, yeah, here's one - https://www.cruiseplum.com/cruise/US/2-people/Carnival-Venezia/2024-10-14/11-days from $94 per person per day including tips and taxes.

very late reply but if you're into the ~old cruise experience~ you can do a transatlantic with cunard from new york to southampton (and back if you want!)

You can, but I heard that all the rich people now hate the QM2 because it's "old" lmao. It was built in like 2003? There are Carnival ships way older than that.

lmaooooo i'm actually doing the fourth of july nyc/halifox/boston cruise this friday on the QM2 and it's so funny watching all the old rich retirees having meltdowns on the cruise forums. but then they turn around and say the new ship is ~too modern~ like you can't win with that crowd lol

Well, for some pop culture related to the QM2, have you watched the Meryl Streep movie filmed during one of the transatlantic crossings?
