A Harry Styles fan has received a prison sentence for stalking the singer. The 35-year-old Myra Carvalho - who is from Brazil but has been living in a London hostel since December - was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison, banned from contacting Styles or attending any of his performances for 10 years. she needs therapy imo and not jail. I wish I understood more about where stalking comes from, mentally and emotionally.

Anxious attachment I'm guessing. Add to that Obsessive thoughts. Low self esteem plus low self worth and self image equals to fixating on how someone can give you meaning. I imagine there's some mental health issues there too. I hope this person gets some therapy.

For men though stalking is usually someone they already know and have maybe had a previous relationship with and is all about power.

I hope she gets therapy in jail. Her behavior warrants a time out.

I went through a rabbit hole about Erotomania and it's really interesting. Not all cases of stalking are erotomania but the one that involved celebrities are often the case. The person has a delusion that the celebrity is in love with them, it's usually co-morbid with other neurological conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar.
