Yea like it’s giving Archer without giving Archer and it’s weird

It's...growing on me. I'm not a fan of the smoothness of cg 2D a lot of the time, but it does actually have a good comic book feel which is more than I can say for the most of the rest of the MCU. I miss handdrawn animation still though.

It's growing on me or shall I say...im getting used to it.

The OG animation was great and i wish could be replicated but that would cost too much money to properly animate

Original animation was clunky and wonky af now come on now.

It was clunky and wonky because of budget and time. The style was great and when properly done...is still great.

One thing that annoys me about the new intro is that they have Storm fly and her pupils are showing. They kept them white in the OG, as the gif shows!

(Although that might have been foreshadowing for her current storyline, but I doubt it...)

Agreed. It is proven simply timeless. Like, this masterpiece would’ve been broadcasted everywhere even in the outer space. It’s that iconic

The style didn’t differentiate from any other cartoon of that era. It was basically done by the same studio that did Ninja Turtles and other kiddie crap. I mean it just wasn’t great at all and it always stopped me from fully enjoying the show because of it. I’m not saying I prefer the new style but technically it’s miles better than the original.

Yeah I don`t know what that user was talking about, the animation style, the OTT voice acting and dialogue, they are literally trying to replicate the OG version.

I think a lot of it too is we were watching it on a crappy small TV screen as kids versus having HD monitors/tvs and watching it as an adult. Two totally different experiences. I thought it was awesome af as a kid. They keep skipping episodes or restarting it from the beginning on me so I never got to watch the entire thing.

I'm starting to begrudgingly like it but I can't tell if it's genuine like or the Stockholm sinking in.

yeah, it is totally too smooth and flash-looking, the og (as well as all older cartoons) have texture that is missing from anything like post-2006 and idk it does kind of take me out of it a bit

The "flash-style" vibe is my biggest complaint. And it's because now, in the year of our lord 2024, there shouldn't be a choppiness for a top tier project like this. It looks like early 00s animation flow at times and that still bothers me.

Overall, the colors, the storytelling, everything else is enough to squelch my complaints, and I will say that in this episode specifically I didn't notice anything glaring the way that I did in episode 1, but when I do notice something that just doesn't "flow" right, it does make an impact.
