It was clunky and wonky because of budget and time. The style was great and when properly done...is still great.











What we have now stands the test of time better but it's also more simplified to a degree.

One thing that annoys me about the new intro is that they have Storm fly and her pupils are showing. They kept them white in the OG, as the gif shows!

(Although that might have been foreshadowing for her current storyline, but I doubt it...)

The style didn’t differentiate from any other cartoon of that era. It was basically done by the same studio that did Ninja Turtles and other kiddie crap. I mean it just wasn’t great at all and it always stopped me from fully enjoying the show because of it. I’m not saying I prefer the new style but technically it’s miles better than the original.
