First, Bündchen kicks her morning off with lukewarm water with a little lemon and Celtic salt.

Let the lemon water debates resume!

are you eating a chocolate cake with chocolate icing on top and a thin layer of vanilla while waiting too?

I LOVE lemon, I love to eat them even. But god my gums hate acidic anything so much so honestly I’m jealous of anyone that can do this! I had to chill out on just plain La Croix because the bubbles were too much lmao

Salt water in the morning.. Have doctors said people should do this?

The only time I put salt in my water is if I’m doing a long cardio session- like a 60 minute+ cycling or run- to replace electrolytes. Otherwise, I don’t see how it’s remotely necessary or what magical properties it could have (not a doctor though).

this is the first time i'm reading about salt + water in the morning but i'm assuming it's just a pinch?

specifying the salt is so pretentious of her lol

Honestly, after seeing enough Vogue Beauty Secrets videos, it's interesting how famous people can have so much access to the best information/doctors/derms/nutritionists and still make dumb choices or fall for obvious wellness scams.

How is squeezing a slice of lemon in warm water and putting a bit of salt in it a dumb choice or a scam? Who is the scammer? Big Salt/Lemon/Water? Plus it helps you poop

The purported health benefits are largely overinflated (or flat-out incorrect) and it famously degrades your tooth enamel, especially having it first thing in the morning.

i feel like a lot of the "health" tips celebrities espouse are just so vague in their benefits and if there any, it's negligible in the grand scheme of things lol.

And, not to be an asshole, but most of these people's "secrets" are EDs.

dumb Q but why would having it first thing in the morning matter in terms of tooth enamel erosion? Because people might not have brushed their teeth yet?

I heard at one point that it's better to do it after you brush your teeth but it seems that might've been bullshit. Most of the scientific resources suggest it's the daily repeated use that's an issue.

That sounds like what i've read. I thought logically it makes sense to brush your teeth after breakfast, so you're not going about your daily routine with that much more gunk on your teeth/gums. But IIRC it's better protection for your teeth to brush your teeth before eating/drinking in the morning. idk idk idgi. I just know i hate having like a cup of OJ or similar immediately after brushing my teeth.
