I was not prepared for the sound at the very beginning of the video and I shouted out "OH MY OH MY" like a Victorian school mistress or something. I am so dramatic.

I really hope she's going to be okay. This is all so awful.

I have a lot of sympathy for her and I hope she leads a happy, private life from now on, but the way I’ve seen some people stanning for her is kinda weird. She’s famous for the worst possible reasons, and the abuse it all stems from isn’t something she chose. I think it’s good that she realizes that the choice to kill her mother was wrong, and I can understand doing something like this for income when getting out of prison, but it really doesn’t need to go any further.

She can get income from it? I would have thought that would be considered profiting from her crime.

That’s true, I didn’t think of that.

Profiting from a crime needs to be direct like getting an inheritance or insurance money. Writing a book, giving movie rights etc are not a direct result of the murder.

this girl..i really can't get behind the continued mass media coverage with her. she's in exactly the same position she was before prison, sans the mother obviously, with using sympathy for personal gain and i just can't see things going well for her if she isn't given the chance to actually live some kind of 'normal' life and figure her shit out. what happened to her is horrible but that kind of psychological damage and the behaviors she learned growing up were not fixed or rehabilitated by eight years in prison. she needs real help and support and i hope she gets it.

This. I believe it would be healthier to spend time with her family and get used to what a normal life means, because she's literally never had one ever. Instead this is going to cause yet more interest and I worry people will follow her or want more from her and she'll never be able to just get away from it all and live her life.

definitely. she also seeks it out though, so it's just a continuous cycle until something gives. with how heavily she's been leaning into the publicity in the week or whatever it's been since she got out, especially the campaigning to meet taylor swift thing, it seems pretty obvious that the overall priorities and general manipulative type behavior the mother put on her are still right there.

honestly, if she can create some kind of nest egg by participating in this series, she deserves it for what she went through. but i agree that once it's all out there she needs to get serious help without the world watching.

If I wasn't on ONTD I would have missed out on this completely! It wasn't a big thing in my country and I'm only really interested in fictional cozy murder mysteries.

Have you seen the Canadian show “Three Pines”? Sadly it only lasted one season but it’s really good and has cozy vibes at times.
