I used to like BP but then I really heard the new kpop girlies (not the boys sorry I don’t listen to men) and I’m like damn they’re so mediocre in comparison.
Their production is soo dated. I like Jennie's voice and I have some hope she'll go for a sound I like if she ever released music away from YG. Rosé... girl what are you doing
Fair, I think they'll get all the benefits from their sporadic comebacks with YG but being able to do whatever they want for their own promotions outside of that. I will not be interested in it but I will look into their direction for entertainment every once in a while.
Anyway I was kinda into BP in the beginning but that's mostly because I was a die hard 2NE1 fan. I saw some of the remnants of them in what BP received but once that fizzled out I didn't care anymore. They're too stuck in the typical 'chic cool YG' image now. 2NE1 were better in the sense that their image was way more free spirited, a bit camp, felt more natural and they themselves had such distinct well formed personalities that you could see in their work.
Gonna be honest, I have 0 faith in any of them managing to do anything other than turning around, squatting, and squeezing literal shit out of their asses for their borderline lobotomized fans to loop play on spotify for 6 weeks straight in order to keep it charting long enough to look like anyone actually likes the foretold "song". I'm being considerably meaner than usual this time, because I thought at least Lisa had some great potential, but every single solo release they've had the past year'ish now has just been so genuinely terrible to me, that I truly wonder if any of them enjoy singing at all anymore. None of them seem to care about their careers. None of them have the burn. The desire, the DRIVE. They don't HUNGER. They always look bored, over it, and like they're just doing the bare minimum to go home with a fresh bag of money. None of them care about their craft. They just want to sit and be handed a hit song by goddamn groundhog's day in the human form, Teddy

At this point, their fans are too used to low effort mediocrity, too starved for "content" and too eager to win the fanwars for them to fail. Lisa, Jennie and Jisoo at least. Good look to Rosé, I guess.
Nah, I completely agree with you. I've been done with them for the last few years because none of them seem happy. My sister said Rose should go be a kindergarten teacher because she looks like she'd be one lol.
with how long it took them to say they're remaining under yg but as a group rly showed that this would be the outcome. i hope that they're finally able to do what they want to do considering they hardly ever released music.
