If actors are bad singers... why not get some ACTUAL talented singers to either play them or do the singing and give them good credit? Hate this auto-tuning of voices when there's actual decent singers out there. Autotune just takes me completely out of it - one of the things I really hated about the Beauty and the Beast live action movie was how they autotuned Emma Watson's voice SO MUCH - it was really distracting.

The same way they don't cast comedians in comedies anymore, box office baby!

Or actual voice actors for animation

I say with an icon of an animated character voiced by Paul Rudd

Well yeah, but Paul Rudd is a talented voice actor, too. Who else could bring Tina's imaginary horse, Jericho, to life?

You're so right, who else could do justice to such a talented horse

Me in 2010s - why don’t they make funny comedies anymore? 💀

Yeah maybe it's growing up with a lot of Bollywood, but get singers to do the songs if the actors can't sing.

This, Hollywood needs to make playback singers a thing too.

Sometimes they do (i.e. the Greatest Showman and the Eurovision movie) but maybe not for the big stars with crazy fans

I mean, some movies really embrace their bad singers (Pierce Brosnan in Mama Mia I'm, looking at you...), but it just seems.... wasteful to me when they don't bother investing in a good singing voice

But even in those films some of the showstopping numbers were dubbed…like Rebecca Ferguson and they blended Rachel McAdams’s voice with someone else’s

That's what I meant-- they hired different people do to the singing

My 14yr old self explained away Gerry’s casting as The Phantom in POTO, but adult me is so 🙄 about it now. You cast THAT voice for thee Angel of Music?! WTF were you thinking ALW? You did/let that happen to that film and now I can’t even watch that shit. I love Emmy, but HIM?! 🥱

May as well have cut the BS and dubbed Gerry with Michael Crawford. It would’ve been waaaaaay better or better yet, have had Michael play the role even cause the Phantom (Erik) was an inappropriate old man obsessed with a young girl in the first place.

Dang, didn’t even realize I had all these feelings about this at this point. 😶😂
