Timothée Chalamet Jokes It Was 'a Lot of Auto-Tune' Singing in 'Wonka', Calls Dancing a 'Learning Experience' https://t.co/ZMInMtk4VO - People (@people) November 29, 2023
At the London premiere of Wonka, Timothot Chalamet "joked" that his role involved a lot of auto-tune. About dance, he said despite having always been around it (his mum is a dance teacher, his grandmother and sister were/are dancers), "it's a big difference between being around it and having to do it".
First reviews point to the movie being drastically different from the trailers because Chalamet is described as "a charisma factory", "infinitely charming", and "pitch-perfect".
Timothée Chalamet is earning raves and being called "infinitely charming," "intoxicating," "pitch-perfect" and "a blast to watch" in the lead role of Willy Wonka: "Chalamet is reason alone to see 'Wonka.'"https://t.co/1nbsgRZBYbpic.twitter.com/l0xPCoMF8c - Variety (@Variety) November 28, 2023
He wore a Willy Wonka-inspired cleavage-baring suit and custom Cartier necklace.
Director Paul King previously confirmed Chalamet's high school videos helped him get the part, but on the red carpet Timothee claimed it wasn't just the videos, and King also "liked the other movies I did!". King is yet to confirm these most recent claims.
- he's not really a chocolate guy, he prefers raisinets or milk duds - Gene Wilder's 1971 performance is "sort of untouchable...it’s like a perfect performance, so this is the accompaniment" - he realised all his other roles had a "grounded seriousness" but in Wonka he had to "loosen up and play" which he "hadn't done in 10 years or something" Here's a video where you can hear him say a lot of those things and more, but he cleverly keeps his dazzling charisma under wraps so that we'll have to go watch the movie to see it.

Hugh Grant says it's the first premiere he's been to where he hasn't seen the film he's in and:
- he cries in all films now, without exception - there's noone he hates (which is very rare) in all the cast, crew, producers - but there may be a couple of executives he doesn't like much - they asked if he was excited to be in London for the premiere and he said he lives there so, not really
