Actually it's getting bad reviews

Charming would be the word for it if it didn’t hit grating far too often.

#Wonka: Chalamet attempts a Gene Wilder meets Jim Carrey vibe that sands the edges off both, the only memorable song is "Pure Imagination," and the chocolate doesn't even look that appetizing. Hugh Grant's Oompa Loompa (as disconcerting a few words I've ever typed) is default MVP

I thought it looked bad but Cats-level bad? Maybe that's why Hugh Grant was expecting to cry while watching it

But the first one still praises Timmy and I want them to be mean to him :(

Not surprised. The trailer made it look Cats-esque. And I don’t know why directors think musicals always have to be so stagey. That one town sqaure in the trailer where most of the action seems to take place looks so cheap.
