I agree. I think it’s lovely and I think it’s natural to share stories of how you knew someone in a tribute to them.

I'm with you. I found what she shared to be rather sweet.

I don't think I hate Goop as much as a lot of people, so maybe that's clouding my judgment.

But this seems like a kind story and she's not making it all about herself. It reminds me of the stories people share about someone they hung with in college or high school, but they lost track of.

I agree. What she said was nice, kind, and respectful. I think people are just automatically on edge because it’s Gwyneth, which is understandable.

True, but she's on that "bitch eating crackers" level for me.

A friend of mine died recently (related: get a colonoscopy in your 40s if you can). Lots of tributes were posted for him on Facebook and I noticed how judgmental I was of some posts & posters more than others. But ultimately, it was just nice to read people talking about what a great guy he was. And I believe that's the same with Gwyneth's post, if I take a minute to get over myself.

I would just like to add that the recommended age to get a colonoscopy was lowered to 45 (in the United States), so please get one. My sister got her first colonoscopy a few months after she turned 45 and they found polyps which turned out to be cancerous. She is now cancer-free, but the doctor said it might have been a very different story if she had waited until 50 to get her first colonscopy. Colon cancer is very treatable!

As a first degree relative, I had to get a colonoscopy immediately. TV shows always make it sound like it's The Worst Thing Ever, but it really isn't. The actual procedure was a breeze and I felt nothing. The prep is what's inconvenient. You can't have anything with fiber for a few days before the procedure so I treated it as a trip to my childhood and basically had a bunch of carbs. The worst part of the entire ordeal was taking the laxatives, but honestly that's something you only have to deal with for a few hours. I know people put off scheduling a colonoscopy because of the way it's depicted on tv, but ( ... )
