I’m ready for the royals to be big mad about this.

idt they will be. I don't think they'll come off that bad in it. or at least no worse than they came off in The Queen.

I can see Will and Harry being mad about it though because of their most traumatic experience of their life being dramatized for entertainment.

The show has been very kind to them but it’s also reminded people how awful Charles was to Diana and how much it fucked with the true love image he had built with Camilla all these years.

I watch this for the performances mostly and randomly poignantly, wonderful episodes and scenes peppered in between the ~shenangians~ that is this show.

Serious question: Why do people watch this?

I've tried about 3x to sit down and watch it and I find it unbearably boring.

I love a historical drama! idk, I just found it sluggish. By the time any ~drama~ came about I didn't give a shit.

I mean people like different things. It's a very well acted drama objectively. And people love a family drama..

It's weird to me that he's covering the same ground he did in The Queen. Although I guess it's the most dramatic thing to happen to the family in the time period of the show.

yeah like... very weird that he's basically going to adapting the exact same events he did in The Queen. Is he gonna basically just copy and paste from the screen play or???

The Queen was in 2006. Just 9 years after Diana died and William was 24, Harry 22.

There is no way they could have the boys be active charachters in that movie at the time. No way.

They clearly are here.

I think he’s focussing more on the boys this time which is a choice.

Because the blatantly obvious parallels between the treatment of Diana by the press and the current treatment of Harry should be highlighted. They won’t be.

I recently stumbled upon the memorial thing they have for Diana where she died. I think it’s called the Flame of Liberty? I don’t think it mentioned Dodi though.

technically it's not actually a Diana memorial.

The Flame of Liberty existed before Diana died. It's just kind of unofficially become a memorial since it was near the tunnel where the accident happened.

Oh I know. I read up on it after. I was just surprised it was still being used like that and that Dodi wasn’t featured.
