I could imagine the hotel could see him causing a scene as bad for business lol which is why they prob called but also I think a lot of peoples first reaction is to call the police when a you’re stuck somewhere and a stranger is drunk and yelling at you imo

Maybe they just didn’t want a drunk man out in public. Which brings up the reply about how we criminalize those individuals. I’m worried about his safety at that point of him just leaving, but that safety sure as hell isn’t going to be in the jail system

This is my thing. I have seen people who have been wayyyy too drunk in public. I wish there was another way to insure that they get home safely and frankly, i dont trust the police to be the ones ESPECIALLY when it comes to women in very vulnerable states. I don’t want them to be reprimanded but just get home safely. I also don’t think it should be “free” but I know police typically aren’t doing shit and they’re being paid regardless…

In this situation, I wonder if the police did anything to deescalate/fix the situation OR did they go in their guns a blazing? But obviously not LITERALLY because this is a white man in Dallas… this just seems like a waste of money but ain’t that the police in general
