oh ok. maybe but that would be surprising to me, she always has spoken very well of the show and would be down to do a reunion as a ghost. kevin williamson came back to write the finale but hadn't otherwise been involved really in years. this is what he had said about it (which tbh is in line with jen always getting the shaft, i laughed at him spinning it like a good thing):

“I looked around at all the characters and said, ‘Who can it be?’ I wanted to tell the story through Jen. She always felt like the outsider, the misfit. She was always the person who didn’t feel like she fit in,” he said. “And I thought what a beautiful way to let her be the catalyst for everyone’s turning events.”

Williamson continued, saying Jen’s death pushed Joey to decide between the two great loves of her life.

“I also wanted Joey to finally make her decision between Pacey and Dawson, and I thought what better thing to launch that life decision than the immediacy of a death,” he said. “You’re forced to dig deeper and to truly figure out what your future’s gonna be.”

And right after its end, when she started making into movies, she clearly wanted to distance herself from it, because back then "tv stars" where looked upon on cinema, especially stars from teen shows

Williamsons comments are all very recent, he said that during the 20 years reunion, but back when the show was on on fan forums rumor was that Michelle was so unsatisfied with the show that she wanted a clear cut for her character

I remember being also bothered by his dad when they save Pacey and Jen when True Love sank and he watched Joey embrace Pacey and Mitch said something like "it's unfair that you saved the day and did not get the girl", Joey didn't owe him anything and Pacey did not either, he was such a shitty friend to them both!!!

Girl Joey was the worst!!! lol completely insufferable and def didn’t deserve pacey. Dawson actually is what she deserved but I’ll be happy for pacey

s1/s2 joey was my fav after pacey. my issue is that they started making her so generic in the later seasons to fit a more broad romcom lead angle. her whole initial appeal to me was her spiciness. i loved her and pacey from the start because she was the one who actually comforted pacey after everyone else acted like his teacher molesting him was some big joke, and he was the one who took her to visit her dad in prison. i also resented how all that development was forgotten by s2 because ~dawson

Joeys victim complex was too much for me to overcome. She was always poor me poor Joey and it was obnoxious. Her little temper tantrum because she didn’t get the financial aid she wanted and was offended at even the thought of a student loan so she’s just not going to go an Ivy League because she doesn’t want to take out loans like every other person in America?? That she even took Dawson’s money to pay for school was gross. And the way she literally hopped over to Dawson like a day after her and pacey broke up was nagl. They spent all that time building that relationship just for them to break up and her to run back to Dawson and the next season opens with her writing essays about Dawson and pining for Dawson and pacey is an afterthought. Pacey always deserved better than Joey. The focus on her character as the show went on really soured me a lot

they character assassinated both her and pacey just to hit that reset button to shove her back with dawson, it was infuriating. it made no sense for her to go from so involved in pacey to suddenly being up dawson’s ass again after all that development. plus they made pacey unbelievably cruel to her during promicide, and i don’t care how upset he was - it was super ooc of him to behave that way without at least apologizing (which he never did, they made JOEY apologize to HIM lmfao). and then he’s suddenly banging her college roommate??

i cant even really enjoy them getting back together in the finale unless i forget all those seasons happening, because it’s so unearned, doesn’t really delve into unpacking all of that, and ignores why i even liked them in the first place. it’s like comic book levels of retconning lol

but everyone was fully ooc by the end except jen, who they punished with death (or maybe that actually was her gift, finally escaping all those people lol)
