I’m one of the lucky ones. I’m aware that my career provides me with a good living, gives me health insurance, helps me take care of my family. Also maybe someone wants to make a post on this specifically but Jennifer Esposito said recently she didn't even qualify for SAG health insurance:

Maybe this will help some understand the strike. Many people have known or seen me on many shows/films thru the years. Yet 1 yr, recently, I didn’t meet my health insurance minimum! Would never imagine that I didn’t meet the minimum of 30k, right? Wrong. We r NOT all millionaires

It’s so depressing that in the 21st we can’t simply have automatic health insurance for all
(and that pharmaceutical companies are allowed to get away with murder; I just read an article explaining why certain HIV meds were intentionally delayed for years for profit)

Health and emotional care should NOT be tied to employment. It should be available and affordable to all.

Yeah, Fran was talking about how Hollywood is wiping out the middle class and this is what she means.

When even getting jobs means you will struggle to survive then what is the point?

Middle class being wiped out is not just happening to actors and this is one of the big things that the big studios are avoiding the deal. Accepting that actors are struggling would be accepting that people in other careers are certainly struggling. And we do! These writer and actor strikes are making inequality more visible.

it's almost as if the ability to go to the doctor without going into longterm debt shouldn't depend on the whim of your employer
