I know for white collar crimes, a lot of them can use it for restitution. I’m thinking big players though like Enron, Bernie Madoff, etc.

there are always ways to go around it. she can write about her experience after the sentencing, her time in jail and subsequent release and adjustment to society without explicitly writing about the cult, her crimes or Reniere. however, in any case she will not be immune to civil lawsuits, which her victims will undoubtedly sue her for restitution.
