Pleaaase please please no Tony for Ben Platt. Otherwise rooting for Sweeney Todd in its categories.

I will say, I thought Ben Platt was actually good in this one, even if I will never forgive him for 2017.

Lol he was good, but not as good as Josh Groban! (And his singing wasnt nearly as strong as other performances i have seen of the role). I do think "rude and awkward nebishy Jewish man" is more in his wheelhouse lol.

I get that there is another strong contender who might deserve it most (and would be fine with them winning instead), but between Platt and Groban I would be so passed if Platt stole it from Groban again.

Groban was tepid and miscast; he doesn’t have the vocal nor acting range to pull off Sweeney. He sounds gorgeous but that’s not the role, he’s supposed to be a menacing demon barber FFS

Well he sure as hell sounded a lot closer to Len Cariou than Ben Platt sounded to the original Leo Frank actor. At my performance he hit all the notes vocally, and brought the appropriate angst and anger.
