it’s not, but it’s also true that it’s a reset button for former party girls. i think if she had kids - regardless of how she was as a mother - she’d probably get supporting sitcom or hallmark roles. there are plenty of roles for mediocre-to-poor actresses because of nostalgia.

…is that really why though?

I mean obviously there is a convo to be had about how society and Hollywood treat perpetually single and childless women, but was that really what hurt Tara’s career…?

I was thinking the same thing. What about people like Jennifer Aniston? She is very successful and doesn't have kids. She has been married though so idk.

Patricia Clarkson has never been married and has no children and has been open about her reasons why and her career seems decent enough.

I can list so many actresses who never married or had kids (Dana Delaney, Heather Graham, etc.) or didn't get married until they were over-40 (Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, etc.) that have zero problem getting work.

She's not wrong. I don't think I'll ever have kids because *gestures around vaguely* and I wish more people would let that go instead of being like, oh you'll change your mind. You want grandkids? Meet my cat, Ellie.

I've gotten "you'll change your mind" since I was 15. I'm almost 38. One guess what my mind hasn't changed on

I had a tubal ligation in my twenties specifically to prevent children permanently, and a few years later a total hysterectomy (for medical reasons, but forever lack of period and children was a huge bonus). I STILL get people telling me I will change my mind. Like...?

That's quite a convoluted lie to tell yourself, Tara.
