I get so jealous of Europe and how they protect workers and privacy rights. Granted, this is just me seeing this all play out in the news so I dont know how it is day to day but the governments do seem to work more for their constituents than lobbyists?? what a world.

Not an expert but I see one of those issues in the US basically being a two party system. Easy to turn into crazy „fan boys“. Also the republicans are so fucked, they are not even thinking about their citizens as a whole. They don’t know how to make compromises or to work FOR the people. Side A asks for something, Side B just votes against it out of spite even though a compromise would maybe work for ALL people. That’s why we have like 5+ parties and they need to work together to even get a majority

Yep and the worst is that nothing is clearly defined in practice (not just on paper). I have to deal with DPOs a lot and their usual answer is „oh this could be illegal, better stop doing it“ what could happen? „Oh we don’t know but better don’t do it“ so what should we do instead? „Well THAT is not my job“

Yeah GDPR is a bitch admin-wise but it’s really saving a lot of people since data became the latest valuable asset to buy/sell.
