I’m reading more and more theories that seem to be making sense (the underground stuff, the potential ritual/rules with the playing cards, etc). I’m pumped!

Nothing concrete at all! (I don’t know how to do a spoiler cut).. Just little things like the symbol trees mapping out underground mines/tunnels. And the playing cards being “rules” that the group follows (like based on what card someone pulls). Maybe that queen card instructs that person to choose a person to sacrifice, so that’s why adult Lottie pleaded that her blood be enough to fulfill the order? Maybe other cards determine other chores or jobs for the girls? Idk..
I also don’t know what to think of ‘Pit Girl” yet! Could it be someone from present day and we’re only meant to assume it’s a flashback?

someone commented in one of the earlier threads that one reddit theory is the mining minerals are highly toxic which is affecting both survivors (hallucinations etc) and the animals' strange behavior. the symbols are definitely a map leading directly to the mining hub. van confirmed it when she connected the trees over nat's map and it matched the symbol perfectly. that's how they found javi. it's most likely a map for the mining center. that would also explain how javi survived and how the snow was melted on the ground (most likely due to hot springs underground).

I thought that too, but haven’t ruled out some type of editing trick or maybe hallucination scenes blended in. The cult location just looks too similar to the crash site..
