Didn't they just put the papers on the stage? Like it wasn't good, but it's not like someone got on the stage and handed them to her or am I misremembering?

I feel like the server could have been stopped with one security guard in front of the stage being like 'wtf are you doing?' Maybe you don't need to put security around the stage and in the wings, just get a few good people who know what they're doing.

Someone came onstage & handed them to her.

Wilde was onstage and ready to show the first footage from her second directorial project, a psychological thriller starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles. Suddenly, she was handed a mysterious manilla envelope, which was first reported to have had a script inside - soon after, it was reported that the contents of the envelope were actually child custody papers from her former partner, Jason Sudeikis.

...no they didn't. They slid it onstage, the process server was not actually on the stage.

Everyone made it seem like the person walked right up to her & handed her the papers. But just getting to the stage is too close.
