Finn had such great potential, probably one of the biggest standouts in the new trilogy, and it helps that John Boyega is such a fun and charismatic actor. I remember how hyped he was to be in the SW films… versus now, where his exposure to such a volatile fandom + getting shoved to the side for Kyle Ron definitely killed a lot of his enthusiasm.

They could have just recreated the OG trilogy with Finn, Poe, and Rey taking over for Luke, Han, and Leia, which they kinda hinted at, and then Kyle got woobified and it fell apart with no plan.

I can see better story ideas and plots in this post than what we got. If they were just going to retread the OG, put Kyle in helmet at the beginning. Vader was so successfully threatening because we never saw his face until the end.

I just remember how excited both John and Daisy were when the first trailer came out and then internet trash ruined it for them, with Disney suddenly distracted by a squirrel and let them face all that vitriol alone.
