Lucasfilm blitzed out some Star Wars and Indiana Jones news at the Star Wars Celebration showcase panel today. In the Star Wars movie realm, they announced 3 new projects.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct a movie set fifteen years after The Rise of Skywalker. Daisy Ridley will return as Rey as she attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order.

James Mangold is developing a film about the dawn of the Jedi, described as a "biblical epic."

Finally, Dave Filoni will helm a New Republic movie which is meant to wrap up The Mandalorian and Ahsoka storylines. This comes after The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau said no end was planned for the show, so [insert shrug emoji].

There was no mention of the long-rumoured Taika Waititi movie. Shawn Levy has also been rumoured to be in talks to direct a film. As anyone who has followed Lucasfilm news knows, all prospective film plans have fallen apart since The Rise of Skywalker released in 2019 so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if those projects hit a dead end.
