I can’t watch the trailer at work, but does The Lost King include the women who were in love with Richard III and refused to be believe he had scoliosis?

That crazy woman is the main character in the film, its heroine so to speak.

Omg lol that might be interesting then. I remember how she lovely looked at his bust in the documentary. I guess she’s not so different from many fangirls

I much prefer the documentary where everyone politely indicates that they find her weird as hell.

i vividly remember the woman who wrote the book it's based on/is the main character in this was in a documentary about finding him years ago. when they told her the curvature of his spine pretty much confirmed he had scoliosis, she literally RAN from the room in distress. it was wild. yet the trailer starts with her character saying everyone decided he was a bad person because of his disability... philippa, you insisted he wasn't disabled until you saw the skeleton!

with that said i might watch it once it's online because i'm curious to see how she portrays herself lmao

Oh and she wrote the book! Yes, this is certainly some revisionist history then. I remember her and others being horrified by any mention of him having scoliosis. I know it was thought that it might have been an untrue rumour to further vilify him in history, but they were fanatically adamant about it.

they really were! they seemed more upset about people suggesting he could have had scoliosis than shitty comments being made about people with scoliosis. plus i read there were historians frustrated with the book/movie because apparently she made it seem like she and the other ricardians were the only people who really cared about finding him? idk, they're all just... quite an interesting group.

Oh they definitely seemed that way in the documentary/report I watched. I wish this movie would’ve captured that weirdness better
