Ashley Park announced on TikTok that she is joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building for season 3. She will play Kimber, a Broadway actress. Other previously announced S3 cast members include Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, and Jesse Williams.

Yeah I had to wonder if there was a scheduling conflict with the actor or something. Rewarching season 1 it feels obvious they intended to keep his character around and then in season 2 they just mention him once.

I binged through both seasons last week and the way they built their relationship/pining up the whole s1 was so great just for them to explain his disappearance with a throwaway line in s2.

I'd understand if the actor had scheduling conflict but the creators said in an interview they just ditched the relationship because they didn't want Mabel's relationship to him to lead to a trauma bond. Apparently that made perfect sense to them but the whole storyline was ditched so weirdly with S2 literally picking up hours after s1 ended and we're supposed to believe Oscar just up and left Mabel when she most needed him like that because they decided to just be friends?

I have many feelings over this, obviously lol.
