Okay this is our winner's post.

copy and paste from post below:

I'm surprised at some of the Baftas winners!! But not really cause Baftas like deviating but still!

Austin winning Best Actor!! I thought it was gonna be Colin Farrell or surprise win by Paul Mescal!!

Barry wins over Ke in BSA!! :O! I think thats Ke first lost of the season! But I think he's still the lock!

Kerry winning BSA is not totally shocking and am happy for her! I've been rooting for her or Stephanie for the win! Angela I have been wondering if the Marvel/Superhero aspect will be a hinderance for her? I also heard she's not in it that much....so I wonder if the awards are looking at that.

I really like Angela, but I have to admit I found her acting in WF a bit cringey.

I haven't seen it yet but I was loving that "HAVE I NOT GIVEN EVERYTHING!!" part in the trailer!! Even then I was like "OSCAR-NOMINEE!!" even though I didn't think it would happen BUT HERE WE ARE!!

I won't be mad if she wins but I keep wondering cause they all see the mcu as the big bad boogeyman when it's outside the the tech awards.

I loved that part in the trailer as well, especially with the music, but it seemed just a bit too much in the scene and there then were other scenes where I felt a bit of second-hand embarrassment tbh. (She had some really good quiet emotional moments too, but I just feel it was too uneven overall)

I love her and I'm a Marvel fan, but the fact that she'll probably win for that...after all her other amazing roles and after the MCU has done so many better movies...oy vey.

bafta almost always goes with white winners, i mean they are lowkey racist so i'm not surprised by the winners. also not surprised by all quiet win because like people said the brits are obsessed with WWI like americans are obsessed with WWII it is what it is

i think the sags next weekend will determine a lot, but i don't think the supporting categories are going to change because of this, and i say this as someone who loved both barry and kerry in the movie, they were the standouts. but ke and angela still have this on locked

best actor though... austin just got pushed to the frontrunner, there's no denying that. if colin gets the sag next weekend it's honestly split between them, it can kinda go either way.

i havent been so stressed about fucking awards lmfao. ill just accept colin's chances got killed bcos of this, it's easier instead of hoping and then be heartbroken again lol. (sorry im doing the most but i genuinely genuinely loved banshees lol)

and here i thought we'd have stability, typical baftas lmao fucking shit up. i still think sags will go predictably smoothly but best actor yeesh lmao

Ke I'm not worried for cause he's the solid lock. The bafta loss is that not huge. Angela is still the frontrunner but idk if SAGs go different, it's looking shaky.

Best Actor is a wild card now lol!!

it's gotten so interesting because we just expected blind sweeps but outside cate, sadly, it's all over the place

i think unless something wild happens next week we should just accept cate's getting her third oscar in 3 weeks

At this point I think Cate and Ke are the only solid locks so far. I'm hoping for a Michelle upset at the Oscars.

Austin winning Best Actor!! I thought it was gonna be Colin Farrell or surprise win by Paul Mescal!!

Seriously! They pick Irish and British and a semi-Aussie for the rest but then Austin Butler (over Paul Mescal?? Or Colin Farrell? Really?? HIM?) in a terrible film that pretends that Elvis gave a fuck about the Civil rights movement or blatantly stealing from black people, when be did not.

Yeah Ke will be fine and will still win the Oscar because he has a great performance to back up a narrative of this being his comeback and is in a Best Picture competitive film. Barry was great too so I’m glad he got to have his moment. And nothing changed for Michelle because her path to winning was always going to be Golden Globe + SAG; she was never going to win BAFTA. I think Cate has a 60% chance of winning and Michelle has a 40% chance of winning.

Angela Bassett is the one who is in danger here imo. She doesn’t really have the performance nor the role and she’s in a Marvel movie… Anne Thompson who has a lot of insight to Oscars voters said that a lot of them don’t even want to watch the movie because it’s Marvel. She may still win but it will be a very tight race between her and Kerry.

I'm really hoping for that Michelle upset at the Oscars!

I'm happy to see how far Angela has gotten but that marvel association is what may be a deal-breaker for her. The MCU is very much the big bad to most of them, plus it's not a ~drama~ role...that's another strike against her.

Kerry on the other hand I wouldn't mind if she were to win (same with Stephanie Hsu) cause I really liked her performance in Banshees. I think Angela will win at the SAGs though. Baftas was Kerry's biggest shot I think.
