It's not going to be a fan Twitter account playing audio backwards with no other analysis, writing a rambling letter and submitting via the FCC's website that does it.

Think about how many lawsuits TMZ faces from the other shit they pull, but to look at this and think this is anything... never estimate the power of putting "BREAKING" in front of things to make people think it's important.

I don’t think anything will come of it either. TMZ can likely weather slaps on the wrist from the FCC at this point even if they decide to act.

Did any of you listen to the audio? Because I already know the answer as to whether you guys read the letter. It's just crowd noises but backwards. This is just a fan being a weirdo and tossing the words "BREAKING" in front of their tweets. There's not going to be any slaps on the wrists, if they even submitted that letter to the FCC it's going to get tossed in a pile that has people claiming Dora the Explorer is satanic.

But Dora...they SHOULD look into that!

Lawl. The Twitter user has a ticket number from the FCC website that they're mighty happy with (but again, I agree - hence the fan-related hashtags).

For the record, I did listen to the audio. It was secondary videos deeper in the thread, where people had duplicated the results, that I found more compelling (and better constructed than the original tweet), but I did the bare minimum here in the post itself.

To take them down something a lot bigger would have to happen and with a very specific kind of celeb they usually don't mess with. Like wrongly accusing Tom Hanks of something horrible or making him get into an accident with serious consequences.

Legally, I don't think much can destroy them if not driven by huge public outrage. Don't they apparently got connections in court/law enforcement places in LA?

Alternatively, they could just lose popularity and close for a lack of money. The oldest and most eficient way.

Being real: something else would pop up and take its place immediately.

iirc Harvey is a lawyer and they're pretty good about following the law by the slimmest of margins to get away with their shit and skirt the law?

idk in legal terms or anything official

This was my first thought, too. He probably advises what staff they have to word things in a very specific way, and honestly, I bet most of the footage/media he gets is from contracted paps that sell their stuff directly to TMZ.
