As Twitter is now in the hands of Evil Elon, celebs are quitting the social media platform. This Is Us executive producer Ken Olin and Billions showrunner Brian Koppelman have both said they're leaving. Actor Alex Winter has scrubbed his account of tweets.

Others are encouraging progressives to stay. Director Rob Reiner tweeted “For those who are fighting to preserve our Constitutional Democracy, now is not the time to leave Twitter. Now is the time to VOTE BLUE!”.

Then there are those who pledged to quit back in April when Musk made his first bid to take over the company. Mia Farrow initially wrote that she would leave if the platform became more toxic under Musk, only to delete and tweet directly to Elon: “You gave us Tesla ♥️ and Space X♥️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Thank you! Hope you can keep Twitter worthy of your previous achievements and of lawful people everywhere.”

Jameela Jamil declared she was leaving in April, writing, "I fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck.” She then deleted it and has now returned.

Some people are comparing the claims to leave Twitter to when celebrities declared they were leaving the US if Trump was elected president, but then ended up staying anyway.
