The 2022 Nobel Prize in Economics has been awarded to Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond, and Philip Dybvig. Bernanke is a fellow at the Brookings Institution and is a former Fed chair, Diamond is a professor of the University of Chicago (because of course they get in on it), and Dybvig is at Washington University.
They were awarded for “for research on banks and financial crises. We have managed subsequent financial crises better thanks to research insights from this year’s laureates. They have demonstrated the importance of preventing widespread bank collapses."
