The 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal, and K. Barry Sharpless. Bertozzi is at Stanford, Meldal is at the University of Copenhagen, and Sharpless is at the Scripps Research Institute. Sharpless also received the Nobel in Chemistry in 2001.

They were awarded “for the development of click chemistry and bio-orthogonal chemistry”. I'll save you the Google and it's a form a chemistry where the processes occur inside of living systems without interfering with native biochemical processes. It seems like it's useful in medicine and drug development.

Tomorrow: Literature

Monday: Physiology/Medicine

Tuesday: Physics
