i feel sad that i just can't connect to bjork's music anymore. i have such a love for the first half of her career, but as much as i try....nothing she's put out in years grabs me.

also i love the YYYs but the last thing i wanted from them right now was a meandering slow song.

there are more uptempo songs on the album! i recommend "wolf" in particular.

this is me with bjork too. i loved all her albums through Medulla. i haven't really connected with much of her music after that.

I stopped after Vulnicura. I did find myself liking the Atopos single but I can't get into those clarinets.

I've been listening to a lot of moody stuff, so my Spotify releases is providing a bit of a break.

I am really not enjoying this new Arctic Monkeys era...at all.

ooh, i'd love some moody recs!

also, i had the most incredible time at the ethel cain show! she has this indefinable quality that is absolutely captivating, and the way that voice just comes out of her is insane.

I knew you'd have a great time. I agree about her voice. It never faltered. When I saw her in Dallas, she was playing on the upper level of a smaller venue. The stage was just her and the band and some string lights, but that's all that was needed. It was lovely.

IDK if you know but Spotify has a song from her previous project White Silas.

*The recommendation at the bottom (E Death) is her sister.

For me, moody is like Sisters of Mercy, Tempers, Traitrs, Sextile, Ritual Howls, Public Memory, NNHMN, Boy Harsher, Lebanon Hanover, Clan of Xymox...etc.

yeah, it was a very simple set for me too but it was perfect. the only letdown for me was that she didn't perform "western nights," which is my favorite track on preacher's daughter.

thanks for the recs, i'll def check them out! and omg i didn't know any of that music survived, let alone was on spotify. she seems to have successfully scrubbed a whole album from the internet.
