I mean, of course this happens outside of the "indie" douchebags, but it just seems like that scene is particularly predatory, whether it's alt comedians or musicians signed to 4AD or some shit or mainstream artists who pretend to have indie cred
Regarding her Michael Jackson comment, I have less of a problem with it than what other younger people and celebritieswho knew him have said about it
I know it is sensitive given what we now know about him
She's not being insensitive imo because she's seems to be prefacing her comment by acknowledging that his predatory behavior is a fact. I sometimes wonder if it takes being preyed upon in some way for some people to see reality in situations like this, with artists they idolized as children. Idk
i don't have an issue with the jackson comment either (and not bc i'm a sky fan). i actually highlighted that part bc it seems she acknowledges that he was a pedophile, without getting too into it. i'm sure being a young girl, he was appropriate with her, and she's never talked about spending time unsupervised with him either.

A few years ago I started dating someone who I thought was 31 according to a mutual friend, but we didnt meet on an app and I found out she was actually 29 and things fizzled out because I felt uncomfortable. I can't date anyone younger than 5 years than I am, even if that means they're in their early 30s. I mean, I could, theoretically, and I feel it could be ethical. But 31-33 would be pushing it for me. I feel like I can't go younger than 34 at this point in my life because I need a geriatric millennial or xennial who can get tue same generational references. I want to talk about how gak smelled and they immediately know what im talking about

I have a friend who went back to college and they're pushing 40...and their new partner is a classmate who looks pre-tty young. I am judging lol.
