The Son got terrible reviews from the festivals, so we can ditch them. same for Sadie Sink.

Yeah, I like Brendan Fraser but I don't need to see him in a fat suit, frantically masturbating to porn until he almost has a heart attack.

Empire of Light also had mixed reviews. Obviously the Academy loves Olivia so that could get her in, but if it's not a great movie and she's not great in it, I could see her missing the nomination there.

After seeing the trailers, Danielle Deadwyler seems like a much more likely pick than Naomi Ackie.

I think Margot is a wildcard at this point.

I can see Jean Smart winning if Michelle category jumps. The Oscars love films about Hollywood so I don't think they'll resist the bait, she has a storied career and a lot of recent goodwill from Hacks. I think Monae buzz could very well lead her to a nom.

On the lead actress side, I feel Ackie prob isn't gonna stay top 5. Idk I just feel like Ana de Armas and Viola KNOW how to campaign brilliantly and J-Law and Emma Thompson are big names that Oscars love. Cate and Michelle Yeoh are already nomination locks it seems.

wild to me that laura dern apparently has twice the shot at supporting as vanessa kirby when vanessa has been the only consistently praised performance from the son but i don't think either of them are going to be nominated

I’m pissed at Thandiwe Newton being overlooked for her wonderful work in God’s Country. Ugh. Also, I saw the trailer for I Wanna Dance with Somebody - and I’m not buying Naomi Ackie as Whitney.
